Moncler
Following up on my Paraboot winter shoe post, I must champion the Moncler jacket – one of which i am wearing today. Quite simply the best goose down in the world, Moncler seems to get the cut just perfect, for what can be quite an unflattering style of coat. More than a quilted jacket, it’s founders claim that it is is the “quintessence of protection from the harsh winter, the cold-beater par excellence” Founded in 1952, I must agree. Still very rare in the UK and much sought after at a high price point in the US, the company fell under the spotlight during the Grenoble Olympics in 1968 when it was made supplier of the official outfit for the French team.
